This workshop is an exploration and open reading of Terry Riley’s “In C,” a series of 53 musical fragments that launched the minimalist movement in music.

An interesting feature of In C is that much of performance is left up to chance based on decisions of individual musicians. You will choose what to play and for how long (within the composer’s structure). If you are enjoying a particular fragment, linger a bit longer. If it is too difficult, simply move on.

This event is FREE and open to all, including non-members, students and amateur musicians. Register online to receive music in advance.
