Pair up & Play!
Pair up & Play is a new HMTA initiative that encourages piano students to partner with instrumentalists. Practicing can feel lonely, but pairing up fosters musical friendships and strengthens skills invaluable in both solo and ensemble playing. With coaching provided by the students’ private teachers, performances are to take place in the Spring of 2025. All levels are welcome and no extra cost is incurred.
FAQs:
WHY?
Musical partnership stimulates learning and social interaction; it can help develop musical affinities such as pacing, phrasing and expression.
HOW?
HMTA Director and Programs Committee Chair Iggy Jang will pair up the students in consultation with the private teachers. The newly formed duos will work on a piece together with help from their teachers, at their convenience. No extra cost is incurred.
