Asia Doike

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Asia began playing the violin at age 6, primarily studying with Joan Doike, and later Jim Stanford of the Honolulu Symphony. She holds a Masters of Music in violin performance from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music studying under Mimi Zweig, and a Bachelors of Music in violin performance from Arizona State University studying with Katie McLin. Asia has performed as soloist with the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra as a winner of their concerto competition, and has been featured on National Public Radio’s “From the Top, ” where she was a recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke scholarship award. She is a former member of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, and has performed with the Owensboro, Richmond, Honolulu and Indianapolis Symphony Orchestras. She previously taught violin at the Indiana University String Academy, a pre-college program under the direction of renowned pedagogue Mimi Zweig. Currently, Asia maintains a private studio here in Honolulu and performs regularly with the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra.
