Dr. Sophia Park
President
Sophia Park holds a Masters of Music in violin performance from Indiana University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in violin performance from the Eastman School of Music. She is currently an adjunct professor at Pacific Rim Christian University in Honolulu, where she is teaching music history and ethnomusicology. In more recent years, she coached the string section of University of Hawaii Symphony Orchestra, was a summer faculty at Interlochen Arts Camp in 2011, and a teaching assistant at Eastman. Sophia is currently a member in the violin section of Hawaii Symphony Orchestra. In the past she was a substitute in the violin section at New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (2014-2018) and the Rochester Philharmonic (2008-2011). Prior to those years, she performed as a member in the violin section of Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Her principal violin teachers have included Charles Castleman, Oleh Krysa, Paul Biss, Mark Kaplan, Robert Waters, Jeremy Zhu, Michael Geisler, Janos Negyesy, Vesna Gruppman and Janet Jones.
